It is recommended that you have your chimney inspected and cleaned  once every 1-5 years. This is contingent to the amount of use. If you use your fireplace a great deal during the cold season then we recommend every year.  We have skilled and qualified technicians that are able to clean and thoroughly inspect your chimney to make sure that it is safe to burn.

The installation of flashing around the chimney prevents water from entering the house. The intersection of the chimney in route should be flashed with metal shingles which extend at least 4 inches under the roof shingles and 4 inches up the chimney.  

When the chimney is on the slope of a roof, a saddle should be erected to prevent a build up of snow and water. The chimney saddle is also flashed and counter flashed to make the junction with the roof watertight.
